Crowdfunding This Year’s Isle of Wight Vegan Festival

The first Isle of Wight Vegan Festival that took place on the Isle of Wight was held last year, 2016. Organised by Sandra O’Toole, the event showcased a collection of Vegan-related activities presented in Ventnor Park and was considered a big accomplishment.

Being an advocate for the Vegan crusade, Sandra has plans in doing the festival this year. However, it will take more than three days as there will be camping and more events between 28th-30th July.

A pricey venture

As anybody who has done this before knows, organising a festival can require a large sum. This is because you have to pay for insurances, bonds, tents for each activity, speakers, cover from St John Ambulance, and security.

Support the campaign

Since Sandra self-funded last year’s Vegan festival, she’s set up a GoFundMe petition to raise monetary support from festival goers.

Hoping to gather £6,000, Sandra pleads: “Please help me continue to grow The Isle of Wight Vegan Festival, and keep the entrance fee free, by donating as much or as little as you can, to the costs that are accumulating.”

“I appreciate every little penny, and it will only be used to keep this festival going, I promise.”

Vegan Friendly Ventnor

Vegan Friendly Ventnor, the new initiative that was introduced in 2016 as reported by OnTheWight, is aimed at helping Vegans or people who do not eat or use animal products. It showcases those industries in the town that cater for Vegans. The signboards in windows will let you see instantly whether a shop, cafe, restaurant, beautician or hairdresser caters for you.
